Nancy Thiel Architecture + Design is a full-service firm capable of working on a wide-range of project types. The firm’s design philosophy is based on the belief that great design can be affordable, beautiful and practical. Throughout each step of the design process, we consider the balance between careful initial planning and architectural composition, between elegant space-making and the interior furnishings placed in those spaces, and between an overall well-thought out design and the specific finishes and details that make it extraordinary.
Nancy Thiel has worked for world-class architectural firms Rockwell Group, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Michael Graves & Associates, and Selldorf Architects. Her experience includes hotels and restaurants, residential interiors, high-end retail stores, and fitness clubs, residential buildings as well as schools, theaters, and shopping centers. Included among her clients are Disney, ING, Cirque du Soleil, The Related Companies, Equinox, Movado, Morgans Hotel Group, Strategic Hotels and W Hotels. Some of the notable projects she has been responsible for are a new restaurant and hospitality center at the Bronx Zoo, a theater for Cirque du Soleil in Walt Disney World, a shopping center in Bilbao, Spain and Mauboussin, a jewelry store on Madison Avenue.
Nancy also has extensive experience in the design and development of products. This includes the design of custom materials and finishes such as fabrics, carpets and hardware for high-end interiors and architectural projects. She has also developed furniture, lighting fixtures, and carpets for the contract market and custom pieces for the residential market.
Nancy is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a LEED-accredited professional.
